Change Management- Metropolitan Health Service
The scope of work for this review included;
Developing an understanding of the key data and analysis requirements of the senior executives and Medical Directors across each health area, current gaps and opportunities for improvement to:
- What functions each business support function was providing;
- Whether there was any duplication of services;
- Opportunities to improve financial analysis and forecasting across the service; and
- To identify current data and reporting requirements for the service.
The work involved reviewing the existing financial data processes, as well as workflow analysis, to identify where opportunities for improvements could be made and interviewing senior and operational management and other key personnel within the various Business Services functions.
The Futures Group was engaged by the Director Organisational Transformation, to conduct interviews with HR staff and key stakeholders with a view to identifying what’s working well, what could be improved and any blockages to high level performance and the delivery of services.
Feedback was sought in relation to key areas of business performance; such as clarity of strategy, communication, leadership, culture/values, structure/adaptability, systems, skills and staff. The 7-S framework is an appropriate checklist for defining and analysing the most important elements of an organisation to ensure a holistic approach.
